Building for Fundamental Biochemical Research, University
Project Description
Three-storey laboratory- and office-building for interdisciplinary research, with media and seminar rooms on the ground floor.
Reinforced-concrete skeleton construction with flat slabs, composite columns, as well as pre-fabricated, slender spun highstrength concrete columns in continuous configuration over three stories. The column-free media room in the basement was realized by a composite girder in the roof level and tensile columns carrying the load of the stories above.
The foundation was carried out in difficult conditions (sinkholes) as combined pile- and plate-foundation.
