Inauguration of DZNE Bonn
Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, and Svenja Schulze, Minister of Science of the federal state Nordrhein-Wesfalen, formally opened the new research center and headquater of the German Center of Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) located on the campus of the University Hospital in Bonn.
The new building complex not only represents a state-of-the-art facility for the exploration of dementia and degenerative nerve diseases, but also convinces by its outstanding architectural and functional quality, which is accentuated to the extrior by the representative, light-guiding lamella facades.
Mayr|Ludescher|Partner Consulting Engineers are responsible for the successful realization of the load bearing building structure of the three interconnected buildings which were constructed completely without expansion joints. The planning and design of the geometrically complex buildings was carried out by application of 3D-modelling (BIM).
