Inauguration of Nano-Institute

In the city-center of Munich, right next to the English Garden, there was the inauguration of the newly built campus of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University. The Nano-Institute is the first building of the newly planned research facilities. The Institute houses two chairs, the Department of Photonics and Optoelectronics, and the Chair of Hybrid Nanosystems. Basic research is being conducted on nano-materials for efficient energy conversion.

MdL Bernd Sibler, Bavarian Minister of State for Science and Arts, emphasized the institute's excellent conditions for scientists to start their pioneering work.
