Topping-Out Secondary School Memmingen

On Jully 13th, 2012, the topping out ceremony of the Sebastian-Lotzer Secondary School has taken place on the former "Schlachhof"-area in Memmingen.

The load-bearing structure of the new school building which was principally laid out as a skeleton construction is characterized by long-span cantilevering diaphragm-walls. This kind of construction of a vanishing structure a the building perimeter - in combination with the glazed cladding - allows the creation of lightness and openness of the rather compact building (architects: hahne + mauz, Munich, with Herle und Herrle Architekten, Neuburg on the Danube).
